don't know much about history

Sunday night gives me some time to think about the upcoming week and reflect some on the past week. I learned several important lessons last week, a few of which I would like to share with you in no particular order.

1. If you should happen to use your cameraphone for some homegrown porn, it is not a good idea to upload said homegrown porn to your share on a shared drive. Your friends in Information Technology will find it. And we will look. And we will laugh about it in perpetuity.

2. Getting one's teeth crowned is a part of the Over 30 Package that I don't recall signing up for, but alas, Crown # 2 is in progress. Fighting with the insurance company to get them to pay for their rather minuscule share of the crown is also something I don't recall signing up for.

3. Starbucks now features splenda in their sugar-free syrups, replacing that migraine-maker, aspartame. The sugar-free vanilla and cinnamon dolce quite simply rock. I cannot vouch for the hazelnut, as I am not a fan of hazelnuts. Blech.

4. Couscous come in whole wheat. And they make for a tasty lunch.

5. No matter how many times I hear it, the song "Travelin' Soldier" by the Dixie Chicks will make me cry. Am I the only one?

6. As an asthmatic, it's possible to go from zero to bronchitis overnight. As I believe I now have. Blast!

7. In the working world, there is no shortage of pretentious closings for email. Until recently, I believed that "cheers" was used only by the most pretentious Americans (and some sincere Brits). This week I encountered "Servus" and "Onward" which seem to be in another league from "cheers." I usually just skip the closing and sign my name, but I think I may need to come up with something cute. How does "Over & out, Lesley" sound?

I think that's all the learnin I did last week. Let's see how next week goes. Over and out!

Hehe! Homegrown cameraphone porn. Too funny! (Or maybe scary, depending on who's in it.)

Those new sugar-free syrups really are yummy, aren't they? And I don't like hazelnut either, so I'll stick with vanilla for now.

Hope you're feeling better and it's not really bronchitis. Yuck!

TTFN,
Lisa ;)

I totally look forward to trying some of those new Buckstar drinks - alas I think I need someone to go with. Do you know anybody I could go to Buckstars with?

;)

There should be a found on the company servers site - it would be like overheard in the office for "accidentally" shared pron.

I totally agree with you on #5! Somehow I become the piccolo player in the marching band!

I used to sign my e-mails to my parents like this:

Love,
Eric

And then one day, my parents said, why do you sign your name? As if they don't know who I am.

So I started signing:

Love,
me

So my father, who believes in the Alpha Dog theory of families, started signing his e-mails to me:

Love,
ME
