blurg
I started feeling a little odd on Tuesday, and then on Wednesday I was all stuffy and my throat hurt. I met LesleyMom for lunch that day and ordered a hot apple cider instead of my usual iced tea because my throat needed some comfort. After that lunch, I called the ear, nose & throat doctor and made an appointment. They gave me one for today.
As usually happens in cases like this, today I woke up with a lot of pain in my sinuses but not as much, um, discharge so by the time my appointment rolled around I was wondering if I should even go, and if it was going to be worth a $30 copay just for the doctor to tell me I'm fine.
Except? Not fine. It turns out that I have tonsillitis, and a severe sinus infection. Of course, all of this was discovered via some very unpleasant tests which can best be described as "up your nose with a rubber hose." I wasn't feeling all that bad before the appointment, mostly because I was trying to power through it, but now? Yeah, I feel sickypants. I have two weeks of a pretty strong antibiotic to take as well as a course of prednisone.
The upshot in all of this? I haven't had a sinus infection in six months. This is a new record. Maybe next time I can make it to seven or eight months.
And now I'm putting my sick ass to bed. Good night!
